Székely land - Ţinutul Secuiesc - Székelyföld - Szeklerland
This region of Székely land is the most important Hungarian settlement in Transylvania. The inhabitants organised themselves into a bloc and they could survive the difficult periods in this way.
There are several Székely gates in this region and these gates give a spectacular view to the settlements. The gates prove the local craftsmen’s skills and expertise of wood works.
You can find towns with a lot of monuments, mountains above 2,000 metres high, old historic pine forests, beautiful mountain lakes and preserved marshlands. The area is far-famed for the people’s hospitality. The visitors, who are Hungarians can feel themselves at home because everybody speaks Hungarian in this land.
