This area consists of Réz and Meszes Mountains (Cuprum and Limy Mountains), the hills between Someş River and Érmellék River. During the centuries two counties shared this region Kraszna County and Middle Szolnok County. The region has 8-10 Hungarian settlements and their centres are Şimleu Silvaniei, Kraszna and Zalău. On the side of Barcău River: Nuşfalăn and Suplacu de Barcăn are the centres.
